I would just go through the book, listen to the song, and try and play along with the tabs until I could do so. The reason I marked the quality down is because after 2 years of lying the book open on a flat surface, the cover is almost seperated from the pages.
I wish they would release this same book in multiple volumes, maybe even a book for each album - that would be cool. But anyway, this book is amazing, the music is there for EVERY instrument that the Beatles recorded, which is something you will not find in any other book. I have found a few mistakes in the music, but hey, that's understandable. Over 200 songs for a very cheap price. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: At first I was a bit hesitant about buying this, considering the price, but I did and couldn't be happier. It has every song the Beatles ever recorded (even Covers of other peoples songs.
It also includes the music to every instrument in each song, everything from horns and strings to cow bells and tambourines. You can completely recreate the songs or sit around a campfire with Acoustic guitars and play them raw - It includes easy to read Tabs and Chords as well as full sheet music. You will love this, So stop reading this review and 'Add to Cart'! Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: This is a great book and you can sit around for hours just learning all the guitar parts. The book has all the parts for all the instruments used on the song, everything from guitar (with Tab and regular music) to the french horn.
The only problem I can think of for this is that the spine of the book is very weak, mine came broken and so it makes it very fragile. You will have to be careful with it, but it is definetly worth it for any Beatles fan. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: Just got this book. A lot of people are saying that the print is really small. Those people are called 'the blind'. The print is a good size. It is smaller than most tabs i have seen but what do you expect; it's the complete scores for every beatles song ever.
If you want it to have normal size print you would have a book bigger than you're guitar. If you can't see it than get glasses. This is a must get for any beatles fan. It has everything you could ever possibly want to know about a beatles song: guitar, bass, drums, vocals, harmonies, as well as all the different things like trumpets. To sum it all up: get it!

A 40th Birthday gift. The ultimate in such gifts for an absolute Beatle nut! There are very few Beatles songs that I do not love. Perhaps 'Why don't we do it in the road?' , 'Revolution 9' and 'Blue Jay Way' come the closest to accomplishing that task.
But as for my favourites. Where do you start and when do you end? That's a few of my favourites. An incredible book. Sure, it's got a lot of inaccuracies in the transcriptions, but it's close enough most of the time. This is a book I will treasure and refer to for the rest of my life.
Vocals, harmonies, rhythm guitars, lead guitars, bass, drums, percussion and orchestral parts all included. The only thing that lets it down slightly is the presentation, it's not the easiest to read (especially guitar solos) and overuses 'repeat' marks. It must have taken a long time to put together. Very good, but not perfect, collection of scores of the Beatles amazing catalog of music. My major beef with the book is that these songs are not in album order (but in alphabetical order), so when you have a medley from Abbey Road, you don't have a smooth transition from one song to the next. I also had a few minor quibbles with guitar chords, and guitar voicings, but they were not a problem for me because I had most of these already figured out. But all in all, this is an excellent addition for those who want to delve more deeply, and perhaps learn note-for-note, some of the works of the Beatles.
This book contain just about every notes of music the Beatles ever recorded. It amazing but hard to read such small print and being the book size I'm a little clumsy handling such a large book. The paper is thin paper like you'd see in a Bible. Yes all the drum parts, vocals and even guitar solos to trumpet parts. Guitar and bass parts are in both standard notation and tablature. Also includes a full discography. If you want to learn how to play guitar, here is a way to learn from the best! Same with bass. And even piano (though anything other than “Let It Be” will be challenging for a newcomer to the instrument).
If your band wants to be the next “1964”, here is their owner’s manual! The only thing that this book is lacking is the type of guitar and amp you should be using when playing the song in question! This book is as good as it gets – period.
All titles from The Beatles catalog of British & American releases (during the group’s career together) are represented. That’s the first major plus of the book – you get The Beatles’ arrangements of all their covers from Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, etc. They are great fun to play and many Beatles’ versions are better-known than the originals. Songs include:. All You Need Is Love. And I Love Her.

Well designed except. A great full volume Beatles classic song book. I wished the lyrics were large enough to see.
Even with the aid of eyeglasses still its not possible to read them. Impossible to play.

You can be as critical about this book as you want to, all I can say is it's wonderful. I live in a very small town in the middle of Iowa, no guitar instructors anywhere.very frustrating. About 8 years ago I bought this book. I was on the brink of giving up guitar all together and thought I would give it one last try through the music of the Beatles. Now I play in two bands, one playing acoustic guitar and the other strictly bass.
I taught myself, with help of this book, every chord and every bass line I could handle and now I apply those concepts in every song I play. I also teach guitar to teenage kids!! Who would have known. The chord and bass line tabs were the most help to me.
It's worth every penny. I might have to buy another one because this one is about fried. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: The Beatles Complete Scores is a very good, complete reference for figuring out Beatles songs. Probably the best option available. You have to remember that this is not for beginners. If you are just picking up a guitar and trying to play Beatles tunes, there are much easier alternatives.
But if you are trying to learn all of the details i.e. Guitar, Bass, Piano, Violins, Cellos, Drums etc. This pretty much does it. It does a very good job of laying out all of the parts.
(Parts are only labeled on the first page, so you do have to be prepared to go back to the first page to remind yourself of the staffs that pertain to a particular part.only real con, but I understand why.)The print is small.BUT.it has to be in order to fit in all of the parts, otherwise every song would be about 30 pages long. Right now, each song is several pages. For the price, this is well worth it. It is a nice hardback book, in a slip case. Pages are bound nicely so the pages stay open. You can't expect to put this on a music stand and play, as there is a lot of page turning to do, and the book is thick. However, If you are trying to completely learn Beatles songs.
This will do a good job for you. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: Many of the reviewers have commented on the print size and structure of this book, and for the most part they are all correct. This is a technical score written in condensed jazz style (handwritten-ish). Tab is only available for guitar and bass parts, everything else is written in standard notation. String parts are often lumped together on the same staff as are horn parts etc.
All of which are written in concert pitch, not the key of the instrument itself (i.e. Bb trumpet is written in C).And while the cover totes it is EVERY song, it isn't. Nothing from the Anthology Series ('Real Love' and 'Free As A Bird' in particular) or the BBC Radio Discs are included (there were plenty of songs on those CDs that didn't appear in other forms). What it does have is every song released on the standard Beatles CD collection from 'Please Please Me' to 'Let It Be' and the Past Masters discs too. This isn't for carrying around, it's a big heavy slipcase hardcover.
It's pretty much for reference only, or as a display for the non-musical. But for what it is, it's the best option you have. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: Absolutely the best Beatles songbook I've ever seen. The main reason being that most song books are primarily written for piano this book has all the guitar parts (including solos)both in musical notes and tablature. Amazingly, it also includes all the parts for bass, drums, piano, lyrics, melody and whatever significant instrument happened to be used in the song. The Beatles Complete Scores is truly the 'Rosetta Stone' of Beatle songbooks.
Through the Freedom of Information Act, license plate records are technically public record available to anyone seeking the information through the correct channels. Most state and county laws, however, tend to forego such rules and simply make their own where they please.
If you have ever wondered how the Beatles played a passage in a particular song or could never quite get that phrase right this is the book that will has the answers. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: It says that it is The Beatles Complete Scores and it is. No other Beatle music book that I have seen actually has ALL of the songs. Nor, especially, ALL of the instruments.
My husband got this book for me a couple of years ago, and it is just awesome. Yes, the print is small.
I actually considered buying two so that I could tear the pages out of one and copy them enlarging the print. But I just transpose the music I want onto my own paper. I have also found a few mistakes this way. Simple 'typos' that common sense catches, nothing serious. Besides the print HAS to be small for the volume of the book (it is about two inches thick as it is). Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: I've been a Beatles fan since 1964, but I'm not really a musician.
I'm more of an music enthusiast. But, I do have a guitar, a digital piano, a bass, and a small mixer. In the past, I've used fake books to approximate the Beatles sounds, never really very well. I don't read music well (it's always a struggle), but if you give me enough time, I'll figure it out. All that said, I like this book better than any I've ever used. I love the guitar and bass tabs.

If you want to know the precise note in the precise measure that George played in 1963 for any particular song, this is the book for you. I sat down last fall, and started recording, one instrument on a track, one track at a time. By the new year I had about 20 songs completely recorded. I was shocked (given my less than professional abilities) how dead on the covers were that I produced. I'm talking about songs like 'Please Please Me', 'Twist and Shout', 'Money', 'Anna', 'Please Mr. Postman', 'You Can't Do That', 'I Call Your Name', 'Nowhere Man', etc.
They were all spot on, and I am very knowledgeable of these songs. If you want to nail these songs, and sound really great (not to mention, have a ball), get this book. You won't be sorry. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: The bad news first: These are not 'Full Transcriptions' from the recordings. A lot of the orchestral lines are indeed indicated (with varying degrees of accuracy) but a lot are also not there.
So, the claim of 'Complete Scores' is also false and misleading. Some of the guitar licks, etc., are not accurately transcribed. However, that being said, this book is truly a helpful resource when the material sought is Beatles songs. From what I've seen so far, the routines are complete and faithful to the original recordings and there no substantial errors in lyrics, melody lines or chord symbols.

Given the small size of the lead sheets it would have been much easier on the reader's eyes if the lyrics hadn't been printed in Italics.Final word: For what this collection provides it is a valuable asset to a music library. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: This book is the #1 reason I play as well as I do today. If you are an intermediate player who grew up in the Beatles era, you will find it easy to pick up on many of the songs.
And you will quickly learn SO MUCH that it will boost your overall abilities. I mean, you already know these riffs and melodies so well (probably more than you realize, and even if you weren't their biggest fan) that many of them come easily. And that gives you the incentive to work out the harder parts, so as to play complete songs, which will develop your skills at an amazing rate.

Get stuck on one song? Put it 'on a shelf' and turn a few pages. There is so much material here that inspiration will soon hit you again. This book will be even more valuable to those who can read standard notation, as you can learn some of the other instruments' parts.
And if you ARE a Beatles freak, it can give you insights as to what's really going on in any given song. Comments about Hal Leonard The Beatles Complete Scores Book: This book is unbelievable!
Everything is tabbed from the vocal harmonies all the way to the drums! The guitar parts are tabbed correct, but not exactly how the Beatles played them(different chord types, scale locations) in their videos. Unless you're really picky like me, this isn't a tremendous problem. The only downside is that the print is really small.
All in all, this book is an amazing value for the aspiring musician who is looking for correct tabs of Beatles songs, and I would recommend it to anyone.
